Moonchild definitely isn't a book that everyone will enjoy, and Aleister Crowley's, shall I say, colourful personality shines throughout in a way that speaks more about his own psyche than it does about his ability to write fiction.

Still, contrary to many of the opinions on this book, I really enjoyed it and saw a definite parallel between it, and Crowley's own brand The moonchild. book occult magic/5. The Moonchild book.

It's a shame, because it could have been a cool story. Even though some of the language and magical sequences were neat, overall the characters were bland and the plot was unimpressive.

My final rating for this book is: D. #magic #occult #crowley #books #reviews. Moonchild gazes wistfully at the multi-coloured Earth from the monochrome moon.

Then one night, he zooms Earth-wards. It's scarily dark, but Earth-girl Eliza encourages him to wait for morning. A yellow sun rises in a perfect blue sky; there are red flowers, green trees and purple butterflies; Moonchild.

MOONCHILD (LIBER LXXXI - THE BUTTERFLY NET) A PROLOGUE. by ALEISTER CROWLEY. AUTHOR'S NOTE. This book was written induring such leisure as my efforts to bring America into the War on our side allowed me. Hence my illusions on the subject, and the sad showing of Simon Iff at the end. Need I add that, as the book itself demonstrates beyond.
